Any time an opposition player racks up more than 1,000 metres gained against you, it’s going to be a tough watch. When the Swans kick seven goals in the opening quarter and lead by 53 points at half-time, it becomes something else entirely.

What we do have is a strong football club, a healthy culture, an awesome supporter base and a media storm brewing that seems heavy on noise and light on substance.

So here it is: direct from Giants fans, for Giants fans. An opportunity to listen, commiserate and reflect on the season that could have been—had something resembling half our best side been available at the same time.

There were at least a few flickers amid the wreckage: Cogs kicked three and had plenty of High Speed Metres, the youngsters kept cracking in, and the Orange Army stayed loud despite being given very little to work with.

And, of course, a special shout-out to the club doctor—also on crutches.

Seriously, can we take a trick?

Probably not in 2026. Nonetheless, we’re loading up for Port Adelaide and one final attempt to keep the season alive.
